Consistency Is The Key To Affiliate Marketing Profits

When it comes to affiliate marketing there are several methods in which a person can make money. The truth is that there are literally thousands of great techniques and education courses available that will show you exactly what to do to achieve success.

Unfortunately most “newbie” affiliate marketers experience information overload from these programs and eventually give up before they ever make a dime. Most of the time, the new affiliate marketer will blame the eBook or training course for lack of success and quickly spends more money on new education.

What they fail to recognize is that it’s usually not the eBook that is the problem; it’s the person reading it that decides the outcome.

The truth is that only a small percentage of affiliate marketers actually earn the big profits that everyone is dreaming of. Although affiliate marketing is not a hard task, only a fraction of people really have what it takes to stay focused and press on even when the sales aren’t coming in right away.

If you want to be successful you must conquer the “self doubt” that is going to kick in as soon as you devote some time to your new affiliate marketing venture and don’t see the results. You must understand that this is natural and while others are giving up you are going to press on, build from your experiences, and continue to educate yourself on affiliate marketing strategies and tactics.

Think of affiliate marketing as pushing a snowball up and over a hill. At first it’s going to be difficult because gravity (doubt) is working against you. But after you make it over the peak you can’t stop the snowball even if you wanted to simply because it keeps getting bigger and continues to roll on its own.

So you need to understand that all the hard work is going to come at the beginning without any reward. But as you continue to market your affiliate programs on a daily basis, pretty soon your efforts will start paying off simply because you are everywhere on the Internet.

Forums… You’re there!
Articles… You’re there!
Social networking… You’re there!
Search Engines… You’re there!
EBay… You’re there!
And on and on it goes!

In closing, if you are just getting started with affiliate marketing make sure you do your research, find the right training program, and then stick with it. If you are one of those people that have already purchased a bunch of education programs, then maybe it’s time to dust them off and give them another try before you spend more money on training

The 2009 Outlook For The Internet Business Owner

As we wave goodbye to 2008 and welcome 2009 what lies in store for the Internet marketer and home business owner? Although the rest of the economy seems to be in a serious funk I believe 2009 will be another amazing year for entrepreneurs harnessing the power of the net.

Whether you a network marketer, affiliate marketer or “for profit” website owner both the ecommerce and network marketing industries continue to grow at an alarming rate, despite what’s going on with the rest of economy.

The one thing I would like to point out though as we move forward is that EVERYONE should do their part to keep the Internet free. Since the Internet is truly the only place where the little guy operating a business out of his home can compete with corporate giants, don’t let this get ripped out from under you without a fight.

If you aren’t familiar with different legislation and organizations vying to control and regulate the Internet I encourage you to get educated and do your part to make your voice heard.

A great website to find more information about “Keeping the Internet Free” is http://www.savetheinternet.com.

Best of luck in 2009 everyone!

The “Right” Way To Develop Your Own Successful Ezine

An ezine has become on the most effective marketing tools on the Internet today. Unlike a traditional magazine or newsletter, the ezine is an easy to put together publication that’s only available through the Internet via email or a website. This eliminates the costs associated with traditional magazines such as printing and distribution.

If you do a search about any subject online you are going to find that you have the opportunity to join hundreds of ezines on various targeted subjects. Since the development of an ezine is a perfect method to build an opt-in list of potential clients for your products and services, it’s imperative that you develop your own online publication. Otherwise you’re only leaving potential sales on the table.

So what are the steps to developing a successful online ezine?

The truth is that with a simple piece of software and knowledge on a certain subject, you can start your own ezine and start adding people to your subscriber database in a matter of minutes.

Here are the four steps to creating your ezine and getting it online.

#1 - The first thing you need to do is choose a name for your ezine that describes the content you will be providing. Obviously you want to create an ezine that relates to the products or services that you are going to be selling. For example, If I have a product or service I’m promoting that deals with weight loss & nutrition I might name my ezine the following, “Lose Weight Safely – The eZine Dedicated To Safe and Effective Weight Lose Techniques”. The main thing is to make the name of your ezine exciting and let the subscribers no exactly what they are subscribing to.

#2 – After you create the theme and title of your ezine, the next thing you will want to do is add an opt-in form to your website so people can subscribe to receive your publication. The reason you want to do this before you actually create your first ezine, is that you need subscribers to send information to. You might as well be building your database while you develop a quality publication.

In order to add an opt-in form to your website you are going to need an auto responder service such as Aweber. An auto responder is an email marketing and database tool that allows you to build an opt-in list and then email that opt-in list your ezines and email promotions. The auto responder service you choose will give you a snippet of code you can add to your website, blog, MySpace page, etc. that will allow visitors to subscribe to your new ezine.

#3 – After your opt-in forms are added to your web properties it’s time to start encouraging your visitors to subscribe to your new ezine. You can do this by offering your visitors extra freebies simply for signing up for your publication. Some good ideas are free eBooks, discounts on products, vouchers, reports and audios. The important thing is to add on the value a person will receive when they sign up and make them an offer they just can’t refuse. By doing this you can drastically increase your opt-in rates and build your subscriber base at a lot faster rate.

#4 – All that’s left to do from here on out is produce a quality publication to send to your subscriber base. When writing your ezine newsletters it’s important that you continually offer valuable and relevant information about your selected topic. This will ensure that you will retain your subscriber base and avoid having people “opt-out” of receiving future information.

Make sure you keep your advertising to a minimum and work in your products and services into the subject you are writing about. Giving someone a subtle suggestion about a product or service often works way better than blatantly advertising to them.

In closing, you now have the formula for successfully creating your own ezine. While most web publishers worry about creating the perfect ezine before they start building their opt-in base, you will grow your database much quicker by working in reverse and then writing quality content as your subscriber base grows.

Easily Create a Lead Capture Page That Converts Like Crazy

Most people have no idea how to create a lead capture page that converts visitors into leads. Unfortunately many lead capture pages are slopped together without compelling ad copy and the key triggers that get people interested in an offer.

In this article you will discover why certain landing pages convert like crazy while others don’t. You will also learn some pin point accurate techniques to make your next lead capture page project a huge success.

One major problem that people run into creating capture pages is how to write compelling copy. If you are a beginning copy writer or someone who has trouble with skill than it’s important to study copywriting or hire someone to help you with the process.

Here are a few tips to help you out with lead capture page copy writing:

#1 - It is important to use a of compelling sales points with powerful psychological triggers. Most people who create a sales page miss either one or both of those elements.

#2 - Concentrate on building enthusiasm with a little bit of hype BUT make sure to clearly explain what solution you are providing and for whom you are providing it for. If I don’t have a specific problem that you’re solving you are not going to convert traffic into leads.

#3 - Sprinkle in psychological triggers, such as “Proven to Work”, “Revealed”, and “Insider Secrets”. These buzz words will compel your visitors to continue reading your copy and raise the perceived value of your offer.

#4 - Make sure your lead capture page has a smooth flow. If the copy looks amateurish and it doesn’t slowly grind forward you won’t break down your visitor’s resistance to the sale, or opting in to become a lead.

#5 - Personalize your copy by using your name, location and even a picture of yourself throughout your page. This not only builds credibility but also lets people know that there is a real person behind the offer they are reading on the website.

In addition to careful copywriting, there are other important things you must take into consideration when writing a lead capture page that converts. For instance, it is important to build a compelling case for a limited time offer.

Now, this doesn’t mean you have to invent fake deadlines and constantly revise them each week. However, you will want to make sure that you constantly urge the reader to act immediately by inserting a number of “calls to action” along the way.

Here is an example of a “call to action”:

“Don’t Wait… I’m Only Planning On Giving Away 50 Copies of My “Internet Cashflow” Report Before I Pull It Offline For Good - Grab Your FREE Copy NOW Before It’s Too Late!”

As you can see, I’m creating a sense of urgency or “call to action” to get my prospect to act quickly and make a decision. Not only does this call to action build perceived value for my offer but it also gives the prospect direction on what I want them to do.

Creating a quality lead capture page doesn’t have to be a long drawn out process either and sometimes less is more. Rather than building a compelling case with multiple triggers and calls to action over the course of 1000+ words, you may want to simply condense that all into a compelling headline and one paragraph of the “benefits” of your offer.

You will find that you can sky rocket your opt-in rates with this technique unless the visitor a) doesn’t see any benefits from taking you up on your offer and b) suspects that you will spam them or sell their email address and information.

Both of these problems are easy to overcome though by doing a few small things. First, in your headline simply state the exact benefits they will receive for joining or “opting in” to your list. In your first paragraph of copy, give them a compelling reason to join now (i.e., the price might go up, the list might become private, grab a copy of my amazing report).

Now, to overcome the second problem, simply include a short line under your opt-in form that explains that you will not spam them or sell their email address and name. This is known as your “terms and conditions” or “privacy policy”.

Here is an example “Privacy Policy” I like to use:

“Please Note: I respect you privacy and your information will only be used to deliver the materials relating to my incredible limited time offer (No Spam – EVER). All contact information must be accurate or valuable materials will not be delivered.”

You can even put your phone number and name in your privacy policy to help with the credibility of your promise not to spam or sell the prospects information.

In closing, creating a lead capture page that converts like crazy isn’t as hard as you might think. Simply exercise some of the techniques outlined in this article to put yourself on the fast track to lead generation and opt-in list building success.

How Many Network Marketers Does It Take To Change A Lightbulb?

* The Internet Marketer:

First I’ll buy 10,000 leads and load them in my autoresponder.

Then who ever comes out the bottom, I’ll teach to load 20,000 names in to their autoresponder and who comes out the bottom of them, we’ll teach to load 30,000 names in to their autoresponder…hopefully someone on the 10th level down will get around to actually changing the dang bulb.

* The Professional Course Buyer:

Sure, I’d love to change the bulb. I can do it! But first, I’ll need to buy the latest book from my favorite guru on how to do it, then purchase 32 e-books of worthless value, just to have them laying on my Hard Drive (someday I may actually read them…), then I’ve got to search the Internet for the best free information on changing light bulbs and buy a 16 CD ROM course on the subject, and I’ve got to get subscriptions to all the light bulb changing magazines…

After I study for a couple of years, I can then go out with confidence and get the job done.

* The Cold Caller

Hey, I can change that bulb, no problem. But first I’d better do a search and find the best leads out there. Then I’m going to buy a couple of “guaranteed opt in lists” that have people on them that have specifically answered an ad for my light bulb changing opportunity.

Then I’ll sort through the lists and delete the ones I don’t think will make it, and then well, next week I’ll actually have 10 minutes to get around to really calling those leads…and for sure, I’m going to find that one right person who is going to make me $10,000 a week changing the light bulbs for me!

* The Conference Call Junkie

Hey, no problem, I’ll get that bulb changed. But I’d better wait until after next Tuesday’s conference call that will show me how to hold that bulb in just the right way to get the most out of the experience.

* The “I’m Getting Ready” to Change The Bulb Guy

It’s on my “to do” list. Right up there at the top. It will get done. But first, let’s see, I’d better re-arrange my desk so I won’t be distracted, and next I’d better take out the trash, and next I’d better sharpen my pencil, and next I’d better get ready to get ready to get ready to change that bulb…

But hey, it’s on my list…

* The Loser

You want me to do what?

Me???

You’ve got to be kidding, and you actually mean I have to spend a dollar to buy the bulb first, man you’re nuts if you think I’m going to really change a light bulb.

I got into this cause “they said” I wouldn’t have to do anything or spend anything…they’d do all the work for me!

* The I Need To Make Money Now Guy

Hey, this sounds great! They told me I could make $20,000 changing light bulbs. Where do I start.

Hey, what do you mean I’ve got to send out a thousand post cards a month and call all these responses and pay for ads in newspapers and call all the responses and …what? You mean I actually have to spend the money for those ads myself?

Doesn’t the company pay for all these ads?

And what? You mean it might take 4 to 5 years of doing that every month?

What are you Nuts? I can’t do that. I need to make money NOW. Hmmmmm, where’s that lottery card I had laying around here?

* The Reason Why Not Guy

Hey this sounds exciting, making money changing light bulbs. But, what would my spouse say?
But, that would actually take an hour of my time…
But, I’ve got to go bowling with the guys tonight…
But, my favorite TV show is on!
But, well, sure I want to make money, but I don’t have the extra $25 bucks to join.
But, the guy down where I work, his best friend’s great uncle tried that and he didn’t have any success so it probably wouldn’t work for me either.
But, this isn’t like Amway isn’t it?
But, this is a pyramid thingy…
But, I couldn’t talk to my friends and relatives about this…
But, I don’t have the time
But, I don’t know enough people
But, …ad-nauseam

* The Triple, Double Diamond Pearl

Done! Give me 144 cases more to change, I’ve got the time and energy and ambition to do it now. I’ll also get a couple hundred more cases for all the active distributors in my downline and have them changed by the end of the week.

(I’m not sure who the author of this is, but I saw it online the other day and got a good laugh out of it ;-)

Easily Create A Marketing Plan For Your New Website

A marketing plan is essential for any type of business and opening a new website on the Internet is no different. By putting together a marketing plan you will have the road map in place that can guide your website from obscurity to a hot destination in the least amount of time.

Below are several key things to remember while you develop your marketing plan to bring traffic to your website.

#1 - Establish your objectives and targets.

After you have built a website for your on line business, you need to establish goals in terms of how much you want to earn from that business. This will help you figure out the volume of traffic needed to make the necessary sales you desire. Your objectives and goals will guide you in deciding the level of promotion and the right type of advertising you need to bring in the desired traffic.

#2 - Establish your advertising budget

This is a very important step simply because there are so many techniques and strategies for driving traffic to your website. Some techniques are affordable while others are expensive and by establishing an advertising budget you can outline what tools and services will give you the most bang for your advertising dollar.

#3 - Invest in the necessary tools.

One tool that every website needs is an auto-responder. An auto-responder will allow you to capture information from people visiting your website and follow up with them via email in a consistent manner. If your website doesn’t have the lead capture function that an auto-responder provides than you are not maximizing your existing traffic and missing out on potential sales. (The best auto-responder available is Aweber. CLICK HERE to learn more about this vital service.)

#4 – Develop short term and long term advertising strategies.

The quickest and easiest way to generate traffic and leads for any business is pay per click (Otherwise known as PPC) advertising because it can bring you immediate results. While pay per click is a “short term” strategy to get your website listed in the search engines you also want to optimize your website for the organic search engines as well. Since pay per click costs you money and the organic searches are free, obviously you want to make the gradual switch from pay per click to organic as your website grows and becomes more developed on line.

Besides getting listed in the organic search engines, you will also want to write and publish articles on line, create a blog that you make daily posts on, and participate in forums that relate to your industry.

By following these simple steps you can develop a marketing plan for your website. With your new marketing plan you can minimize wasteful spending and give your new website the best chance at success.

3 Important Qualities All Entrepreneurs Need To Succeed

One of the biggest myths about starting a business is that you’re destined for failure unless you have natural skills for business. In other words, if you weren’t born to be an entrepreneur then you are going to be sunk before you ever get started. Needless to say, this is an untrue notion. While there are a number of skills that you absolutely must have to be a successful business person, if you are aware of your strengths and weaknesses there are ways for you to develop those skills along the way.

Here is a list of 3 important skills that all entrepreneurs must harness in order to be successful.

#1 - Perseverance

Starting a business is like the exponential version of working on a project for school. When you are learning a new concept for that project, you are going to have to go slow and steady. If you just start, do it for a bit and then leave it alone you are going to fail the project. But if you start it and then keep at it little by little, you are going to end up with a successful final product. This is what you need to do in business; you need to keep at it until you get to the point of being successful regardless of the road bumps along the way.

#2 - Thick skin

In the business world, you are going to meet a number of cut-throat individuals that would like nothing better than to see you fail so that they can succeed. While it is good to have business relationships with other individuals, what is not so good is hearing anything negative they say as the gospel and letting it take you out of your game. If you do that, then it won’t take very many negative comments before you throw in the towel on your business for good. Consider taking people’s advice if it is constructive, but don’t listen to anyone that is completely negative.

#3 - Ability to deal with failure

Many people don’t posses this ability and easily give up on something after having one unsuccessful try at it. This must avoid this mindset in business because you’re going to fail at things again and again. The most successful business people of today were failures at some point yesterday and what makes them successful is that they did not give up.

As you can see, these skills can be learned over time. The important thing is to be aware of what skill sets you need and then grade yourself on where you’re at today and what you need to do to improve tomorrow.

Tap Into The Power Of Viral Marketing For Your Home Business

Advertising is the key to success for any home business, as people can’t turn into customers if they don’t know you exist and don’t know how you can meet their needs. Traditional advertising, such as print media has been around since the invention of the printing press and broadcast media soon came after the birth of radio. But despite all the years of using these types of advertising, the internet has cast a new light on how to successfully market a business without spending a fortune.

While the cost of Internet advertising may seem cheap considering the number of potential customers it can reach for businesses that only offer a local product or service advertising globally just may not make sense. If your business is located in Iowa and your advertising appears in England or in Africa, chances are the return on your advertising investment will not be what you expected.

While internet businesses can gain tremendously from internet marketing, it can get expensive over time depending on the type of advertising venue you choose. The best advertising you can hope for is to have others send your message to their friends, free, without being asked and without complaining. This is known as viral marketing.

The use of viral marketing has been growing and simply involves having internet users distributing your advertising message of their own free will. One of first and most successful uses of viral marketing was when companies such as Yahoo began offering free email accounts. A brief advertising message appears at the bottom of every Yahoo email sent, usually including a link for the advertiser. Then whenever people signed up for the free email service, every email they sent out contained an advertisement.

Talk about viral marketing! Unfortunately your business probably doesn’t have the capability to give out free email accounts but you can come up with other great ideas to virally get your message to the masses. Try giving away an eBook you write that shares useful information about your product, service or industry and of course has your advertisement tagged throughout the copy. Another idea is to create an online ezine that people could subscribe to and share with others.

Whatever idea you come up with just remember that people love free stuff and if what you give away has value then your prospects don’t mind recommending others to your business or website. This means massive exposure for your business and you don’t have to spend a dime.

5 Tips To Make Your Home Based Business A Success

What type of business you operate from the home is totally up to you, but there are certain things that you will need to do to help insure its success. While visions of making it big comes immediately to mind for many who choose to run their own home-based business, they often forget that it is a business. Running a home business often gives people the misunderstanding that they can dictate every part of their operation and while there are many aspects of a home business in which they are completely in charge, customers and clients will also have input on many functions.

Tip #1 – Set a work schedule.

The first thing needed to run a successful home business is a set schedule. It may be easy to stay up late to watch a movie and repeatedly hit the snooze button on your alarm clock, but when dealing with clients over the phone you really do not want them to think their early morning phone call rousted you from a sound sleep. While having a lot of free time may be appealing and taking naps in the middle of the day may be attractive, keeping regular hours is important to any business.

Tip #2 – Have a separate office.

Make sure your office is only used as an office. In addition to the tax benefits of carving out a space used strictly for work, you will also have the feeling when you walk into the room in the morning that it is time to go to work. Similarly, when the day is over and you leave the office you need to feel as though you have gone home for the day. Just as you want to keep family distractions out of the office, you need to keep work distractions out of the rest of the house.

Tip #3 – Keep it professional.

Being professional in all business dealings when in your home office will help preserve your image as a business owner. If you cannot afford a separate telephone line for the business, during your normal business hours answer the phone in a professional manner.

Tip #4 – Marketing is key.

Unless your business is the field of dreams, simply building it will not guarantee customers will show up. Advertising ad marketing is essential to any business, even those run exclusively online. Chances are there is no sign in front of your home that indicates you are open for business, inviting passers-by to stop in and see what you have to offer. The only way anyone knows you are there is through advertising.

Tip #5 - Build a website.

Even if you will not be conducting any business online a website can serve as your web-based sales pamphlet and include information about you, your experience and your business. Including prominent contact information on the first page of your website is a key to obtaining more business, but you should also have a contact form available for people to simply send in a request for information or for answering questions.

How To Put Together A Home Business Lead Generation Game Plan

Today I want to chat about one aspect of a home business that every network marketer, affiliate marketer and home based entrepreneur needs to be thinking about. I’m talking about the ever important skill of lead generation.

Everyone knows that network marketers, affiliate marketers, and home business owners in general absolutely must have targeted leads to speak with and should always be building an ever growing opt-in database of potential business partners for now or in the future.

The only way to do this and do it right is to get the education and skills to generate your own leads and build opt-in databases. Unfortunately 95% of home biz owners out their think they can bypass this important skill and just purchase leads or buy opt-in databases. They often end up spending way to much money, don’t get the results they were looking for and quickly end up out of money and out of business.

It doesn’t have to be that way though if you start putting together a lead generation plan and execute that plan over the course of a few months.

So how does one put together a lead generation plan?

It’s really not as hard as you might think and it all comes down to using a few golden tools and having the right education. Here are the three main ingredients to a lead generation game plan:

#1 - You MUST Create Your Own Custom Capture / Lead Generation Page.

I know what your thinking but I’m going to stop you right now… A replicated website that your network marketing company provided you with is NOT a good lead generation page. You have no control over it and if the company goes out of business or you switch opportunities all your hard work driving traffic to that page goes down the drain. What you REALLY need is a capture page that you have full control over, can make edits to at anytime, and positions yourself as well as the company.

#2 - You MUST know how to create that page so it’s unique, positions you as an expert and attracts the right people.

Let’s face it… Most network marketers don’t have a clue when it comes to positioning themselves, creating web pages, or writing ad copy. So it’s important that you get this education in order to not only to position yourself as an expert in your industry but also increase your opt-in and lead rates.

#3 - You MUST understand how to drive traffic to your capture page.

The final piece of the puzzle comes down to are you able to drive traffic to your capture page. Without traffic it doesn’t matter how amazing or compelling your capture page is because nobody will see it!

So there you have it… Sounds pretty simple huh?

For most people, probably not. That’s okay though and the good news is that their are tools out their to help you become a lead generation superstar… Seriously!

If you don’t know it yet, lead generation is my specialty and I’ve even designed an awesome software that has everything an entrepreneur needs to put together a winning lead generation game plan.
